Job Description

 

The role of the Cost Control Engineer is to coordinate, direct and lead estimating. efforts to ensure optimum costing and coordination of projects and programs.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Define Cost Estimate Scope: Define the project scope, timeline, phases to be estimated, communication channels, and establish any boundaries for estimates or project requirements.
Define Assumptions or Constraints: Identify any schedule or budget constraints, and how those will be resolved.
Develop Cost Element Structure: Identify everything defined in the scope to be costed.
Collect and Monitor Data: Collect and monitor data, manage risks, identify (if necessary) contingency plan, control changes and communication. Measure and report on progress.
Develop Cost Estimating Relationships: Use cost data to develop formulas/equations entered to the cost model.
Document Approach: Provide documentation for each cost element, indicating sources of data, assumptions used and any other methodology or analysis.
Customer Review: Ensure that all expected costs have been properly presented to Management for Review/Approval/Acceptance.
Finalize Cost Estimate: Finalize the cost estimate. Maintain all files, data related to the projects.
Performa variety of cost engineering functions encompassing estimating, cost control, budge preparations, forecasting, cost reporting while working under limited supervision
Attend project meetings and discussions with the FlMT and external clients
Assist in preparing cost data/Reports for ongoing/new projects.
Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc.
Ensure to prepare costing report of projects daily/Weekly/Monthly basis.
Ensure to prepare project Revenue report.
Determine project scope, define requirements, works with Project Control team and others to coordinate construction, meet deadlines and customer requirements.
To perform and ensure an effective cost control function for the project's life cycle
Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standard programs and reports. Performs performance monitoring and control functions for specific applications including the consistent use of applicable procedures.
Provide financial reporting, trending data, perform data analysis and development.
Develop and/or receive construction processes, procedures, work instructions.
Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Civil.
Minimum of five years' experience in Cost Control Engineering, planning, estimating and other areas of project controls in a construction environment.
Excellent level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs
Functional knowledge of accounting, financial accounting
Operating knowledge and experience of engineering tools
Basic knowledge and experience in HS & E requirements
Knowledge and experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Proficient with computer programs and a working knowledge of new technology
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, outside agencies, business partners.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
